Fox 17 Rock & Review Jayne Denham: Moonshine Deluxe

Nashville's Fox 17 Rock & Review invited Jayne to sit down with host Eric Dahl during the Moonshine Deluxe release window during her recent writing trip to Nashville. The conversation covers the Moonshine collaborators: Colt Ford, Hurricane Fall, Jason Sever, Brian White and Brian Bunn, and the news that Jayne is working on a new album with Nashville producer Marti Frederiksen, who has produced for Aerosmith, worked with Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, and Ozzy Osbourne.

Eric places Jayne's sound in the Australian pub rock tradition, the lineage of AC/DC, Cold Chisel, Rose Tattoo and The Angels, hard-edged, riff-driven rock that built its reputation in Australian venues before reaching the world.

His Rock & Review description of Jayne's sound cuts straight to the point: a country rock artist who built her musical identity on the Aussie pub rock she grew up with. That foundation runs deeper than most realise. Jayne was in co-writing sessions in Nashville with Miranda Lambert, Brandy Clark, Shane McAnally and Jon Randall, the songwriting core that reshaped modern country music in the 2010s. McAnally alone holds multiple CMA Awards and co-wrote the songs that launched Kacey Musgraves.

That is the room Jayne was in. Eric also notes the ARIA chart results that frame where she stands in Australian music: number one on the Australian Country Albums chart, number seven on the Australian Albums chart, and number fourteen on the global Country Albums chart. The album sat between Morgan Wallen and Taylor Swift on release week.

It is the foundation Jayne has always drawn from, and the thread that runs directly through to the Nashville sessions with Marti Frederiksen.
