Truckin with Tim.

Truckin-tim-JD.JPG JAYNE TELLS TIM HE’S THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE IN COUNRTY RADIO

When Tim Ryan of ‘Truck’n with Tim’ fame was called to the stage to receive the People’s Choice Award for ‘Most Popular Country Music Radio Program’ at Tamworth this year, Jayne Denham was honored to step up and receive the award on his behalf.

Tim has been a huge supporter of Jayne’s music and she has made guest appearances on the show a number of times. When Jayne appeared on Tim's radio program in December 2007 promoting her latest single 'Cousin Jude', the story of a female truck driver, a deal was struck.

As they were both nominated for People’s Choice Awards and Tim was unable to make it to the presentation, Jayne offered on-air to collect the award if he won. Both were joking at the time as Tim didn’t think he stood a chance up against some stiff competition. When Jayne called Tim to tell him about the win, he was shocked and overwhelmed that people had voted him number one.

When Jayne performed at the ‘Bunyip Country Music Festival’ in Victoria in February, she invited Tim on stage to officially accept the award. The crowd was elated as they cheered on the Victorian DJ for his success. Ten years of hard work building the radio program had finally paid off for Tim Ryan and his biggest supporter, wife Kathy.

Tune in to ‘Truck’n with Tim’ from 6am-9am on:-

Cousin Jude Video When you have a female truck driver who looks like Sandra Bullock and a country music singer by the name of Jayne Denham what do you have? You have Cousin Jude!!!

The Cousin Jude music clip was shot on location in Somerton (35kms west of Tamworth) at the Moo Cow Inn 10 weeks ago as the second single off Jayne Denham's successful debut album Sudden Change in Weather. Jayne readily admits it would not have been possible if it wasn't for the locals and Cousin Jude herself!

"We first came up with the idea after I had heard of a female truck driver who looked like Sandra Bullock and drove a 22-wheel Kenworth," Jayne explains.

"I took it with a grain of salt of course until one day of course I met the real Cousin Jude herself!

"Cousin Jude was everything I'd hoped and she is the only truck driver I know who has lip gloss on the dash board and drives in high heels!" jokes Jayne.

Cousin Jude was great value and she was more than happy to help Jayne and the crew as they began their first shoot since the widely acclaimed debut Chick Ute was released.

"Cousin Jude drove us all around town in her Kenworth and the locals kept wondering what we were doing.

"It didn't take long for them to get involved and embrace the idea and before we knew it we had people offering horses, motorbikes, cars, everything you can imagine! The hospitality was fantastic and we had a tremendous time."

The Cousin Jude single was released in late November and has received strong public support with airplay everywhere from local radio to the Country Music Channel.

"The support has been overwhelming and I am grateful people enjoy my music," Jayne explains.

But the Cousin Jude story has seen Jayne come to Tamworth, the spiritual home of country music, for the January 2008 festival, culminating in a nomination for a People's Choice Award.

"I was shocked to be honest and am still surprised by the reaction.

"I'm looking forward to Tamworth and also being able to showcase some of my other work from the album. I can't wait!" says Jayne.
